This morning I ventured out to the Raleigh Sports Cards and Memorabilia show. Hosted today and tomorrow at the NC State Fairgrounds. I went out on a mission I wanted a 1990 Score Brodeur, a 1986 Donruss Rookies Set and a 1984 USFL set. The first row I went down I hit pay-dirt picked up:
1990 Score Hockey Set (Brodeur / Lindros / Brind’Amour rookies) – $5 (book is $20)

1986 Doruss Rookies (factory sealed) – $5 (Bonds XRC, Bo Jackson XRC) books $25 (Bonds books $20)

1987 Donruss Rookies (factory sealed) – $3 (McGwire, Jackson, Palmeiro and Maddux XRC) books – $20

1989 Donruss Rookies (factory sealed) – $2 (Griffey Jr, and Dieon Sanders XRC) books – $15

Next I set out for some autographs and rookie cards, I had $15 left and needed to get 15 cards, I ended up with 14 cards and 1 dollar left. Here is what I got (each was 1 dollar):
1. Joey Devine – 2006 SPx Rookie Signatures (Auto) – 372/499 – Books for $10
2. Boof Bonser – 2006 SPx Rookie Signatures (Auto) – 672/999 – Books for $10
3. Josh Willingham – 2006 Upper Deck Clear Path to Greatness (Auto) – Books for $5
4. James Shields – 2006 Upper Deck Clear Path to Greatness (Auto) – Books for $5
5. Martin Brodeur – Score 1990 Rookie card (french version) – Books for $12 but is fairly rare.

6. Dennis Eckersley – 2005 Sweet Leather Signatures Classics (auto – sort of) 4/25 – Books for $75 but even though its an auto, the auto wore off, so it’s blank. But you know it’s an auto because you can see faintly his signature (plus it says it’s an auto on the back). Steal of the show hands down!
7. Miguel Cabrera – 2005 Donruss – Blue Press Proof 54/100 – Books for $5
8. Derek Jeter – 1992 Classic 4 sport rookie card – Books $5
9. Jered Weaver – 2005 Topps Update Draft Pick card – Books $4
10. Ryan Zimmerman – 2005 Topps Update Draft Pick card – Books $5
11. Anibal Sanchez – 2005 Upper Deck Sweet Beginnings Rookie card – Books $3
12. Derek Jeter – 2007 Allen and Ginter authentic Dick Perez Sketch Cards – Books $3

13. Daisuke Matsuzaka – 2007 Allen and Ginter authentic Dick Perez Sketch Cards – Books $5

14. Zack Greinke – 2004 Topps Series 1 Autograph – Books $10
Overall – spent $29 – Books – $237
Some of these cards I bought for me, some of them (and you know who you are) I bought for trade value. If any of these interest you, I am always up for a trade. There were 2 sets I really wanted and in retrospect I should have bought. First the 1989 Score factory sealed football card set. He said he’d let it go for $45 (B Sanders / Aikman / D Sanders rookies), also 1984 USFL for $70 and 1985 USFL for $70. Wish I had more money to spend but, I’m happy with what I have. If anyone has the USFL sets or the 1989 score football set, and wants to trade let me know.
