I have been doing a lot of posting of late and I’d like to take a second and make a list of blogs that I have started reading everyday. This will go on my Links page (see banner) since as a post it will just slide away as the days go by. This is not ass kissing, or playing favorites. These are just well written blogs that I visit daily for new posts.
1. Wax Heaven – Mario cranks out posts like you wouldn’t believe it. He has also helped me out with my blog over the past month. Really though, if it weren’t for my constant reading of Wax Heaven, I wouldn’t have put together BadWax in the first place. His posts are not only topical and funny but some are quite informative and his views of the hobby are dead spot on. I’m sure you have already been to his site, but if there is one of you out there that hasn’t then by all means get over to Wax Heaven.
2. The Baseball Card Blog – Ben has been writing his blog since January 2006. Although I haven’t been reading it for that long, I find his posts very well writeen, and very informative. He like s to break the hobby down into lists, but I do enjoy his countdowns, which I read constantly. He always seems to have the answer to questions I have about card collecting. Since he is considered an old timer in the baseball blog world, I’m sure you all have read his articles as well but he deserves mention.
3. Stale Gum – Chris’s sitemay not be updated as much as Mario’s, but then again who’s is? However Chris has been blogging since 1998 (10 years). While all of us newcomers (myself included) have just started within the last few months, Chris has been working his craft for quite some time. I like reading about his box breaks and trips to the card shows, and even did a good job with his first video box break. At some point, since there seems to be quite a few of us bloggers from NJ, we should organize a baseball card bloggers convention or something. Just throwing it out there, but Atlantic City seems like it would be a fun place to have it.
4. White Sox Card Blog – I talk about Steve’s blog a lot in my blog, because it’s such a joy to read everyday. I can’t think of a nicer guy in the baseball card blog world. I’m sure he has many more reader than I could ever dream of, that is probably due to his posts which are incredibly well written. He mainly deals with anything White Sox related, whether its cards or even news from White Sox land. Every one of my White Sox cards go to him and his collection, I hope that you will follow suit.
5. Dinged Corner – I’m still not 100% sure what this site is about, but I do like to read it since it is usually fairly well written. Personally I like the old cards with the old technology. If she ever wants any cards that I scan, just let me know!
6. Hall of Scrubs – This is quickly becoming one of my go to references for my blog. I love the little tidbits of information that you can get from some of the worst players in major league history. Every story is fun to read, it’s too bad they only update it about one or two times a month. Definitely worth taking a look at.
7. Card Collector Universe – This isn’t just a card blog, but it’s everything to do with card collecting as a whole. A nice reference to go to when you are looking at what the newest things there are for our hobby.
8. Cardboard Junkie – I like to call this the potpourri of baseball cards. He has a little bit of everything up there and as far as I can tell from my time reading his blog, every article is interesting. He also has the strangest tastes in collecting as well, but go and see for yourself.
9. The Writer’s Journey – Jason has a kick ass site. If you like what if cards – he and I (mostly he) are putting together a fun card set, that should be available (fingers crossed) by opening day. He site is a little bit of everything and not necessarily cards, which is why I like going to the site for updates. He talks sports, politics, movies, cards, ect . . . you name it he talks about it.
10. Baseball Card Man – Love this guy’s site, he lists some of the best baseball cards. He is a Royals fan and loves collecting Royals cards (of which I have plenty of so when I get to 25 he will hear from me). It’s nothing flashy, but a lot of fun to read.
I’ve decided to hold at 10 and tomorrow list 10 more. As I said this will be permanently linked on my Links page on the top banner. I know the more people I get visiting my site everyday, the more charged I get writing in my blog, so I hope you all take some time and visit all these blogs, perhaps not everyday, but at least keep them in your favorites like I do. Someday like I said we should have a convention of sorts to try and get to know one another. Hey if you are ever in the Raleigh Durham are, let me know we can go catch a Mudcats or Bulls game and get some autographs!

Why wait for Atlantic City? The Reading Show (a.k.a. The Pants Party) is this weekend!
I had no clue what I was doing when I first started in November 2007. I had a couple of ideas and nothing more. As I began to post, patterns started to develop. Then regular features come out of that. I see a lot of the same patterns in your site. I check it out a few times a day, to see what’s new.
The readers tend to shape the posts. The more positive feedback you receive, the more you’ll gear your posts toward that positive response. It happens to everybody. Even me. But that’s not a bad thing. It gives the blog a stable direction.
One piece of advice, don’t be afraid to try new things. You’ve already tried a bunch of new ideas that have worked out great. Operation Topps and the Bad Wax forums come to mind first. Be true to yourself and the readers will follow. You’ve created a great niche for yourself. Keep up the great work. I may not leave comments all the time, but I’m reading everyday.
Did you ever get my email about the Turkey Red cards? I live in Durham so a Bulls game would be cool.
Man I wish I was living in Bethlehem still, I would so be at that Reading show. Unfortunately I am down in Durham, NC right now and can’t get up for the show.
mmosley I didn’t get your email. I actually finished that set last month, I wish I had gotten in touch with you as I needed quite a bit. Hey send me an email, I live in North Durham, but work in RTP, so I’m all about Bulls games after work.
Thanks for the shout out. I too don’t always leave comments but if you are in my top 7, I check everyday at least 2-3 times.
I was late leaving for work because of this post! I got stuck reading all the links you posted and before I knew, I was 30 minutes behind.
Don’t forget me!

Thanks for the link. I post a little about everything because I get bored if I concentrate on one thing too much. It may be a mild form of attention deficit disorder, but at least it keeps it entertaining. For me at least.
