This one goes out to my dad who alerted me about this amazing event. This July 11 – 15 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, there will be an event called the DHL All Star Fan Fest. For $30 a day you have a chance the get the autogrpahs of the following players:

There are some amazing names in there and many Hall of Famers. I don’t know how realistic it would be to try and get all the players to sign, being there will be upwards of around 30,000 people there, I am thinking this could be really hard to do. But I know if I were still living in the Tri – State area, I would be taking off of work those days, plunking down my money and going for gusto. To think about the caliber of player you can get for your $30 entrance fee, it’s completely worth it.
By my count, and it was a quick count, I found 16 Hall of Famers, plus a couple of should be Hall of Famers. If you just manage to get 2 or 3 autographs a day it’s worth it, plus meeting guys like Feller and Marichal are fun, because they love to talk about the game as they are signing. I don’t think I know anyone who is going to this event, but if you are in the area and are going, shoot me an email, maybe we can work something out. I need a Gwynn and Molitor autograph. I have all the others.

That is freakin’ awesome! I wish I was in NYC for that. Hey, are you going to the Southern League All Star game in Zebulon next week? According to the Mudcats web page, there will be a pre-game autograph session. Maybe I’ll see you there.
