Why this Card?: I have followed Rickie Week’s career since he was named to the USA Today High School All Star Team, just before he went to Southern University. He was drafted 2nd overall in the 2002 draft and made it to the majors by the end of the 2003 season. He probably could have used a few minor league seasons, but the Brewers moved him up and now he is a perennial 0.235 hitter. I don’t know for certain where his career might take him, but he needs to get back to his roots where he was a 0.300 + hitter with moderate power (15-18 homers) and serious speed (30+ SB). Can he ever get back to that level? I have no idea. The only thing he has going for him is that he is still young. He hasn’t gotten to that magical 26 years old mark. A lot of things start to click when you hit that age. Another 0.230 year and he might be relegated to the minors. Let’s hold judgment and see what he can do next season.

But What About the Set?: I am just not a big fan of the Upper Deck base set. Also I don’t understand using stickers on a card that was obviously designed for a signature. Either that or for heaven’s sake, just make the spot on the card bigger or the sticker smaller. Anything to make the sticker less noticeable.
