Like the hitters post I put up a few days ago, these pitchers are having a phenomenal last two months of the season.  They have to be earmarked to look at again when the next season starts.  To be honest they are probably worth a flier right now as to obtaining their autographs.  Pitchers overall have a lot of ups and downs, I always like a hot pitcher at the end of the season to do well the next season.  Here is my list of some interesting players.

Kevin Slowey – Twins – has 3 wins/32 strikeouts/1.09 WHIP over the past month.  Overall on the season he is 12-9/117 K’s/3.63/1.09.  Which may not look all that good, but he is just 24 years old.  He is also on a fairly poor team (sorry Gellman), so the fact that he pitches as effectively as he has been doing is exciting if you are a Twins fan.  He autograph right now is going for between $4 and $8 on ebay.

Todd Wellemeyer – Cardinals – has 3/26/1.06 over the past month (4 starts).  Overall on the season he is 12-7/118/3.63/1.22.  Which is outstanding since he entered the season as a reliever.  At 29 his prospect status is limited, but as a starter hemight be able to put up some great numbers, especially with a quality team like the Cardinals.  He autos on eBay are running about 2 bucks.

Jesse Litsch – Blue Jays – has a 3/18/1.01 statline over his last 4 starts. Overall on the season he is 11-8/77/3.70/1.25.  He certainly has had his ups and downs this year, but you know what, he has all the makings of a solid number 2 guy.  Plus the upside is that he is only 23.  His autographs on eBay are running about $2-$5.

Matt Harrison – Rangers – He has been 4/27/1.23 over th past month.  Overall on the season he is 7-3/29/5.76/1.58. The numbers aren’t spectacular, but he is only 22 years old and he minor league numbers say he translates into a 15 win/ 3.65/1.27 kind of pitcher.  Let’s see how he does next season.  I think you’ll find that his numbers should improve quite a bit.  On eBay his autographs are running about $2-$3, including one form the autograph card store as seen below.

Jorge De La Rosa – Rockies – Now normally I don’t like to recommend Rockies pitchers, but over the last month, he has become quite an efficient pitcher.  He has been 3/22/1.25 over the past month.  On the season he is 8-7/110/5.30/1.51, and  will be a 2 or 3 in that rotation for as long as they can keep him. At 27 years old, he is past his prospect status but his autographed card can  be had for about $2-$3 on eBay.
