Why go after this autograph: Everyone can always remember the first major leaguer who made it from draft to the major leagues in the same year. Conor was drafted in the late first round (2008) and signed late (mid August), got himself into camp and played fairly well, then out of the blue, the Giants call him up for a cup of coffee during September call ups. Of course I didn’t realize this when I sent the card out for signature. This one was part of my try to get every first rounder to sign quest. In college he was a Golden Spikes Award candidate where he went 0.425/10/79 his senior year, with only 221 at bats. He only had 1 hit in his 5 at bats this September, my guess is that he ends up back in the minors next year, but he should be in the pros permanently (barring a bad minor league season) by 2010, maybe even opening day.
Any Current Certified Autographs Available: There are no autographs of him available right now. However, with Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects set coming out this year, he should have a signature in it. Also since he was called up he can appear in next year’s pro sets so look for his autos there as well.
