I’m not too sure how many hockey fans we have out there, but my love for hockey is strong especially of late. Hockey has seemingly come back from the dead. Thanks to a new speed centered game and a plethora of new talent coming into the league each year. The sport, which had previously been left for dead is doing surprisingly well. It will never match up to baseball or football as far as sport popularity, but it’s fun to watch, and the players are getting better and better.
First came Alexander Ovechkin, then Sidney Crosby, last year Jon Toews and Patrick Kane, this year it might be all about Fabian Brunnstrom. Fabian was never drafted and actually didn’t garner any attention from the NHL until last season. After his breakout 2006-2007 season where he poured in 37 goals and 36 assists in 41 games in the Swedish league. He then signed a contract with Dallas at the end of last season and it seemed as though he would make the roster and be one of the top 6 forwards on his team for the opening of this season, however during the first two games he was a healthy scratch and it appeared that he had fallen out of favor with the coaching staff.
Last night he became the third player in NHL history to score a hat trick in his first game (3 goals in a single game). This would be the equivalent of homering twice in your first 2 major league at bats, or scoring a touchdown on your first touch of the football. It is quite a feet for someone who has been one of the biggest names this off season in hockey. Unfortunately he doesn’t have a NHL rookie card as of yet, since he has never appeared in a game and has never been drafted. That will definitely change as the products come out later this season.
eBay is empty for Brunnstrom items, but be sure to check back as the season progresses. He might become the next big thing in hockey. That’s saying a lot, when Sid the Kid’s rookie autos are regularly selling for 7 – 8K on eBay.

I whole heartedly agree with your passion for hockey.
I have often said that if you don;t like hockey, then you have never really watched hockey.
The speed and athleticism of the game is outstanding!!
