Why go after this autograph: While all of the rookie attention went to Evan Longoria and Jay Bruce, everyone forgot about Joey Votto, who could possibly be this year’s NL Rookie of the Year. After a great run of minor league seasons where he averaged around 0.295/20/80, it was a no brainer for the Reds to anchor him at first base this season. He is never going to put up monster home run numbers but hitting 0.295/25/100 seems like where he is going to end up statistically. If I had to compare him to a current or former major leaguer I would put him as a less powerful Todd Helton.
