Why is These Cards are Must Have?: I thought long and hard about putting this card in the list since it’s so incredibly expensive and besides that 1985 versions of Clemens are considered his rookie card as well. But the simple truth is that this is the holy grail card of the 80s. The only card that books for over $200 that was produced in the 80s. We all know about the pitcher, 300+ wins (9th all time), seven Cy Young awards, one MVP, and 4672 strikeouts, good for 3rd all time. We all know about the steroid allegations, even if they are true, you know it wasn’t until later in his career. I’ll give him credit for at least 300 of those wins. Since his rookie year, I have always been a Rocket fan. Even though I am a Yankees fan and to root for Clemens seems just wrong, I can admitit, and when he was traded to the Yankees, it was one of my happier baseball rooting days.
On a Scale of 1 to 10, How Must Have Are These Cards?: A 10, this is the kind of card that would be the jewel of your collection, one of the most valuable cards in the last 24 years. You can find this card for about $125 – $175 on eBay (more if graded).
