Why are these cards must have?: Who wasn’t a fan of Larry Walker? He and John Kruk had very similar personalities. Now I’m not going to lie to you a good chunk of his playing career was in the thin air of Colorado and of course that will hurt his chances of entering the Hall. Overall he finished his career with 0.313/383/1311/230. He has one MVP, 3 batting titles, 5 All star selections, 7 Gold Gloves, and 3 Silver Slugger Awards. He is 81st all time in batting average, 58th in OBP, 15th in slugging %, 19th in OPS, and 25th in power/speed number. There are 4 players in his top 10 in the Hall of Fame, and one on his way. Like I said though, playing in Colorado skewed his numbers. The writers will take that into consideration. He was one of the better hitters of all time, ranking right there with Tony Gwynn and Wade Boggs. Should be interesting in 2011 when he becomes eligable.
Scale of 1 – 10, how must have are these cards: 6, he was one of the entertaining guys of baseball, the league needs more guys like him. The cards run anywhere from $1 – $2 depending on which manufacturer and whether or not it’s graded.
