Player Name: Todd Jones
Sets From: 1992 Bowman
Card Numbers: 202
Why is this card a must have?: I can’t start this post without just absolutely mocking this card. I know Bowman made some crazy cards in 1991 and 1992 but this one takes the cake. What is with that jacket? How could you possibly want to be photographed on a baseball card for all eternity in that crazy ass jacket? Love the dinky gold chains too. Of course he did get his mullet shaved off for the photo so that is nice, but the mustache, could it be thinner? Now that the critiquing is out of the way, let’s get down to Jone’s resume, 1 All Star selection, 1 Rolaids Relief Award, 14th all time in saves and 15th all time in games and games finished. Earlier this off season he retired, finishing with 319 career saves. In my book that gives him some credo in getting into the Hall of Fame. For years he was always the second banana, but everytime he was given the chance to be “the guy” he always excelled and blew few games. He won’t get into the Hall, I mean if Lee Smith can’t get in Todd Jones has not shot.
Scale of 1 – 10, how must have are these cards: 10, this is not for his career stats or his place in baseball history, it’s for how hideous this card is, the laugh factor, it’s easily one of the funniest cards I have ever seen. The card books for $2.50, but on eBay none of his cards are going forno more than $1 and even that is too much.

As a life-long tiger fan, I can say definitively, Todd Jones will never get into the Hall of Fame unless he buys a ticket. A stack of saves means squat when you torture the fans every time you take the mound. Funny picture for sure.
Love the ‘stache…
