Player Name: Will Clark
Set From: 1993 Donruss Elite Subset
Card Number: S3
Why is this card a must have?: Of all the non-Hall of Fame rookies to come out of that amazing 1987 rookie class, Will Clark has to be one of the most popular players. That’s why in 1993 Donruss decided to make him the centerpiece of their Elite subset. At this point in his career he was in the middle of his prime years, he was coming off a 0.300/16/73 season. He was one of the most popular players in baseball right then and he could sell hundreds of thousands boxes of Donruss if he needed to. This signature was limited to 5000, but there are so many unopened boxes of 1993 Donruss series 2 out there and I bet more than half of the signed Clark cards are still out there.
On a scale of 1 – 10, how must have is this card: 8, he isn’t a hall of famer, but still, it’s one of the mosre rare cards of the decade. The fact it’s an on card autograph makes it all the more sweeter. This card goes for $50 in the book, they don’t pop up much, but when they do on eBay they run around $25. Which when you think about the rarity of the card is quite a deal for such a popular player.
