Here are the next two up from TRISTAR PROjections. This is a scan of pack 13:

Jarrod Parker – P – Diamondbacks- 2007 – 1st round – He had a great first year in his pro career playing for the South Bend Skyhawks. Where he went 12-5/3.44/1.24 with 117 strikeouts in 117 innings. The Diamondbacks see big things for this low level prospect. Look for him to split time between high A and AA this season.
Kenny Wilson – OF – Blue Jays – 2008 – 2nd round – He was drafted right out of high school and saddled up in the GCL to start off his career. He struggled a bit only hitting 0.210/0/12/25. At only 18 he is still raw, but he has a lot of speed so the Jays are excited about his prospects. I think we should see him in low A this year.
David Huff – P – Indians- 2006 – 1st round – Huff is good, he is really good and he is on no one’s radar. He had a great season last year, where he split time between Akron and Buffalo. He went 11-5/2.62/0.95 with 143 strikeouts in 146 innings. He should start the year in Buffalo this season, but he will be in the Indians rotation by the end of the year if he does this year what he did last year.
Seth Garrison – P – Red Sox – 2008 – 23rd round – He’s got a plus fastball and slider and startsout his career as a reliever. He started out his career in Lowell where in 22 appearances he went 2-1/1.45/0.77 with 9 saves. He has a good shot of moving up the ranks quickly. First we have to see what he can do with a full seaosn.
Chris Nowak – 3B – Rays – 2004 – 19th round – He is a career 0.300 hitter in the minors. He is blocked by Longoria at third in the majors, not that he is going to be up there this year. I think he has one more year in the minors, probably in my home town of Durham. Last year he went 0.295/15/77/6, has stolen as many as 18 bases in a season. What is interesting is that he is a 5 tool guy, at somepoint the Rays are going to need him. Most likely in the outfield.
Now for pack 14, again no inserts, should make for a fun back end of the box.

Daniel Cortes – P – Royals by way of the White Sox – 2005 – 7th round – Daniel has sputtered around the minors for a bit, but finally hit his groove last season. He was with Northwest Arkansas Naturals and went 10-4/3.78/1.35 with 109 straikouts in 116 innings. Right now he is considered one of the Royals best pitching prospects. I’m not on board yet, let’s see what he can do this year, see if we get a repeatperformance.
Alex Buchholz – 2B – Reds – 2008 – 6th round – Kicked some butt in rookie league Billings last season. He went 0.329/3/26/3 in a short season. A nice start to his career, he will go to low A this year, where we can get a chance to see his five tools in action for a whole year. If he does as well this year as he did last year, you know he could be moved up quickly though the minors.
Sean Danielson – Already reviewed in pack 6 <link>.
Scott Campbell – 2B – Blue Jays – 2006 – 10th round – Scott is a nice prospect, but brings nothing but a solid batting average to the table. Last season for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, he went 0.302/9/46/2. Like I said, he isn’t bad, but there’s nothing sexy about what he can do on the field. He’ll keep moving up but would be nothing more than a backup in the majors.
Julio Morban – OF – Mariners – International Free Agent – Heis another 16 year old bonus baby from the international waters. He is considered a plus outfielder (defensively), with lots of speed, average and occasional power. No stats on him yet as he will be playing his first major league season this year. He is at a minimum 6-7 years away.
Packs Rating – I’m giving this one a 2.0/5.0, lots of long range prospects in these two packs.

The last six packs should be a lot of fun. Bring on the hits.
