Here is another installment of the 2009 TRISTAR PROjections series 2 pack review:

Brian Conley is a third base prospect for the Baltimore Orioles. He was in short season Bluefield last season where he hit 0.248/2/10/3 in 133 at bats. He was moved up to AA Bowie this season, but has only had 7 at bats. To early to tell how his career is going to go.
Dan Osterbrock is a pitching prospect for the Minnesota Twins. Last year for Elizabethton he went 7-2/3.00/1.04 with 104 strikeouts in 75 innings. He was moved up to low A Beloit and has struggled, so far on the season he is 2-5/6.30/1.70. He is still pretty young, but obviously he has some work to do.
Trevor Harden is a pitching prospect for the Diamondbacks. Last season for Missoula he was aces, then he opened the season in South Bend and was just outstanding. Now he is in high A Visalia and although his recod doesn’t show it, he is actually doing pretty well. Not a bad prospect, definitely a plus in this pack.
Stolmy Pimentel is a pitching prospect for the Red Sox. He has pitched well and moved up every season he has been in the minors. This year he finds himself in low A Greenville and he is doing pretty well going 2-3/2.43/1.65. He is still years away from the show, but not a bad prospect.
David Cooper (gold parallel numbered 23/25) is a first base prospect for the Blue Jays. He had an outstanding first season advancing from SS Auburn to Dunedin of the FSL. He was 0.333/5/51 last season, this season he is 0.247/2/21 for AA New Hampshire. He seems to be a solid prospect for the pros but definitely needs to increase his power if he is going to be a first baseman in the pros. This is going to be a Monday Giveaway at this point.
Pack Rating – 2.5/5.0 like the Harden and the Cooper, but that’s about it.
What’s your take on this pack? Have you seen any of these players? Leave a comment.
His eBay seller ID is cal-lector2131 <link>. He has some of the sickest, mojo-est, patches on eBay for Ripken and Gwynn cards. There is a serious problem though, the are most likely fake. Although some of his stuff is certified by IronClad and Stiener, his patch cards are not. Here is a sampling:

I really don’t ever like calling people out in such a public forum, but damn this is just not right. The two Ripken patches look like they were cut from the same patch. Then he has two very prime logos one of a hat and one of a jersey. Then finally the “error” glove instead of jersey card. These in my mind are all suspect. I don’t know if he did the alteration, or if he mistakenly bought it, or he knows and now wants to unload them. Either way, it’s a bit suspect.
What do you think?
This is a new chapter to this blog. Since I am now trying to enter the world of patch cards, I am going to start trading autographed and game used cards for patch cards. So round up your patch cards and if any of these cards strike your fancy just email me a picture of the card you want to trade and we have a deal. I’d take football, baseball, hockey, and any former Arizona Wildcat basketball player. So first up is Doc Ellis. You know the guy who threw a no hitter on acid <link>.

So all you Yankee and baseball history fans out there send on over your trade proposals.

Another weekend is here and that means another give away, this week’s is none other than:
