I have decided to part ways with one of my most coveted cards. It’s a 2000 Press Pass Tom Brady autograph. You can see the eBay listing here <link>. While I am sure that this card will go up in value when he is elected to the Hall of Fame, I only paid $2 for the pack so it’s pure profit for me. Plus I’d rather go out and get 30 patch cards for the price of this one autograph.

There was definitely a point where I wouldn’t have traded this card for anything, but the simple truth is that I have refocused my collection to just patches. Autographs on cards are nice but I can get them through the mail and the signature means more to me when I get it that way. I have learned that sometimes, when you are sitting on a potential gold mine, it’s best to sell high. For all we know Brady’s career might change drastically from last year’s surgury. Plus I’m a Seattle Seahawks fan and really, if I didn’t get this card as part of a pack there is no way I would go after it. So if someone is willing to drop two bills, I am willing to part ways. My best offer so far was $151, my lowest offer was $45. When the card sells be ready to see an influx of patch cards. I can’t wait to start building my patch collection.

Looking forward to it! I’ve always loved patch cards – even though I don’t have any. I have a bunch of game used, though, which I like almost as much. On card autos are fun through packs, but like you I have a lot more fun obtaining them through the mail.
Meh…why would you want to keep an autographed card of a Michigan grad anyway?
I pulled TWO patch cards this weekend!
