mcdonaugh ttm

Player’s Name: Ryan McDonagh

Player’s Current Team: University of Wisconsin (drafted by the Canadiens)

Player’s Current Address: I contacted him through the University of Wisconsin Men’s Hockey Department.

Date Sent out: 12/23/08

Date Returned: 6/15/09  (174 days)

Why go after this autograph: My wife is a huge Montreal Canadiens fan.  I thought it would be nice of me to go out and get one of their top defensive prospects.  Ryan was selected 12th overall in the 2007 draft.  In high school in Minnesota, he led his team to their first high school state championship.  After the 2007 season he was named Mr. Hockey of Minnesota, an award given to the best high school hockey player in Minnesota.  He has just completed his sophomore season with the University of Wisconsin, and there is a possibility of him turning pro next season.  My guess is that he has one more year of college left in him before he turns to the pro ranks.

Any Current Certified Autographs Available: Since he is still in college, he isn’t elligable for a licensed trading card.  There are several signed pucks by him on eBay.

  1. Are the 174 day return times typical or…? I’ve never tried TTM.

  2. I got my McDonagh back today. Looks like he is one of those guys who saves everything for the summer!

  3. Wow Mike that card is pretty cool. Kinda sad for your wife and the rest of Le Canadiens fans, all the potential this kid had as a Montreal blueliner. Instead they got Scott Gomez. One of the rare Ranger trades that actually turned out fantastic. I love McDonagh and hopefully he will be hoisting the Cup for us sometime in the near future.
