Today I got these two pictures in the mail autographed by former UNC Tarheel and 2nd overall pick in the 2009 MLB Draft (by the Mariners) Dustin Ackley. Last week I made a card for him and his grandfather got in touch with me and asked for a few copies of the card. So I sent him up 6 copies and he sent me these two beautiful autographs. One of just Dustin and one of Tyler Hansborough and Dustin. I want to send a HUGE thank you to Dustin and his grandfather for sending these down to me and I want to wish Dustin all the luck in the world in his quest for the majors. I hope to see him in Zebulon, NC someday when the Diamond Jaxx (Mariners AA) play the Mudcats. Good luck Dustin and thanks again to your grandfather for helping me out.

I am a HUGE UNC basketball fan, so honestly, I can appreciate the dual pic/auto a little more, but that is still really cool about the connection you made with a (hopefully) future star, even if in a small way. I have a feeling you made Dustin’s grandfather’s day with those custom cards, and that is really cool.
Awesome.
Where did you send the TTM request for Ackley? I made a custom I’d like to send him.

I think it took a grand total of 7 days to get back. I sent it out to him by way of Mariners Spring Training facilities. Dustin is a local guy, he played high school baseball in North Carolina and college ball at UNC. I have several through the mail successes with him. He is a great signer and from what I have heard, an incredibly hard worker. I expect him to be manning second base very soon. For other TTM successes I had with him see here. [...]
