Chad is a very hard throwing lefty with a plus changeup and a curveball which is inconsistant but at times is very sharp. The Marlins don’t usually take pitchers in the first round, but two of their scouts are out of Oklahoma and they have followed Chad since his freshman year where in his first game he threw a no hitter. They felt as though he wouldn’t last until the 2nd round and since hard throwing lefties are a premium, they went all in. I think he is going to be a 2 or 3 pitcher at some point in his career, he seems to learn things fast and already has a trainer.

If you know Chad or have ever seen him play, leave a comment as to how you think he’ll do as a pro. On a side note, the football draft pick cards will be comeing soon, I had originally planned on just taking the offensive players, since that is what people love the most. However, I am going to throw in some defensive players as well, I want to limit it to first and second round picks, so make sure you get your choices in quick, only 40 slots.

I gotta see a Larry English card! Go Chargers!!! It is sad that I have given up on my Padres by the All-Star break…
I can’t wait to see Chad in the bigs. I have known him since Tball and my son played with him with the Ok Braves as 13 and 14 yr olds and I also was able to help coach. I think Chad is an awesome pitcher now and will continue to get better! Best wishes to Chad!
