How obtained: via trade

Why this Card?: Dan Haren is one of those guys that you probably didn’t know just how good he was until he was traded.  I started following his career when he was with the Athletics.  I just noticed as far as starting pitchers go he was just threw so many quality starts.  He also racked up lots of strikeouts which is always a plus.  The Diamondbacks got a hell of a great deal when they unloaded essentially most of their triple A team for him and Connor Robertson.  Brett Anderson was in that deal and the Diamondbacks might regret losing him, but then again, they can always trade to get him back.  Billy Bean is always up for offers.

But What About the Set?: 2004 Donruss Throwback Threads baseball hobby box runs around $90, you get 1 rookies card, 1 great of the game card, and 3 autographs or memerabilia cards.  The configuration is 24 packs with 5 cards each in the box.  There are some beautiful cards in the set and if you have the money it’s definitely worth it.  Then again, I am a sucker for Donruss sets.
