Updated Blog!
Welcome to the all new look for Badwax.net. I have been meaning to do this for a long time, but finally got up off my butt and did it. I think this format looks good and gives the site a little more pizazz. Something I have felt it needed for a long time. Among the improvements are:
- TTM page is up to date (see under banner)
- Craigslist Idiots page is up to date (see under banner)
- The update page and custom card pages has been axed.
- A new page that will be for all card blogs to advertise on has been established.
- You can now subscribe to the blog and get an email update after each post is made (see top of right column)
- You can bring up any category you want from the drop down menu, or search specific keywords.
- A top 10 blogroll has been established of the blogs I visit everyday.
To get your blog on the other hobby blogs page and the top 10 list all you have to do is ask. Send me an email at chemgod1000@yahoo.com.
Contest Time!
I have a few cards to give away, but this week I would like to do a giveaway for a free custom patch card of any Columbus Blue Jacket. You pick the player and whether or not you want it for a through the mail or just as a patch card. All you have to do leave a comment and tell me which player you feel has surprised us the most statistically this season in hockey.
Winner will be chosen Tuesday night at 9pm using random.org. Good Luck!

Wow, the blog looks great! Very nicely done!
As for the CBJ card – I will let someone else get it. I’m sure it’ll be awesome, but I don’t follow hockey that much outside of a few teams (Bruins mostly) and so I believe it’ll be wasted on me haha.
I am impressed. The site looks slick and professional! As for the CBJ card I would love Voracek card (just the patch would be fine) I loved watching him play for the mooseheads and I do hope he reaches projections!.
The biggest surprise I felt in hockey this season so far must be Dustin Penner. He already is 7 points away from last year’s total and by many accounts was not living up to his contract for the past few years. With 30 points he is near the league lead and his 15 goals are already half his career high. A close second would be Gaborik, though he is considered a marquee player who just has had injury trouble.
Once again, amazing job on the site!
Marian Gaborik – he has been scoring goals like crazy last year he only scored 17 and so far this year he has 21 beating out crosby and ovechkin.
New design looks great. Biggest surprise is Matt Moulson from the Islanders. He has put up better numbers then most guys in the league and is currently top 20 in goals, and has more points and goal than Tavares. This guy was at the bottom of the scrap heap, from the Kings and is just lighting up the NHL. In my opinion he is the Cinderella story of the year in the NHL.
Zach Parise of the Devils. He’s on the PK and on PP. In the NHL top 5 in plus/minus. As of Sunday has 31 ponits. Solid player all a round.
Great call with this Matt Moulson! I was planning on saying Moulson as well. He is on fire. Although, I have been following his career for a few years with the Manchester Monarchs and not really suprised he is doing well. Although I will say, I never imagined he would be where he is now! Last year he had 21 goals in 57 games with 47 points and in 2007 he had 56 points in 57 games in Manchester. There are so many good players in the AHL that don’t get enough recognition, so I am happy that he is having such a great breakout year in the NHL.
Since Moulson is already taken, I’ll take……..
Ryan Miller. Although he’s no secret, and we all know he can play, but I think he has been a big suprise this year! He’s leading the league in GAA, Save %, and shutouts (tied @ 3). He just might prove to be the difference with team USA at the Olympics this year.
Great looking site! It always looked good, but I like the reno’s!
Dig the new site. Far out, man.
As a tOSU alum you’d think that I have any idea about the Blue Jackets. Truth be told I couldn’t name anyone other than Nash, and that’s only because he was going to be the savior when he was drafted while I was down there.
I’m sure the card will be awesome but I’ll leave it to someone who can really appreciate it.
BTW, that new kept me from drinking at the cool bars by the arena.
Would love a patch card of RJ Umberger I’m from Penn. so is RJ he also played with the Flyers but the real surprise is his high is 50 pts in a season already has 21 in 29 games and is fourth on the team in scoring WOW!!!!! thanks would also like to be added to the blog roll see the link http://dionsipautosonly.blogspot.com/
great new look! and cool contest…
I’m going to say Marian Gaborik of the Rangers… who saw that coming?
and when I win
I would like a card of Steve Mason please.
I also say Zach Parise. He is going to have a career year.
CBJ player for a card? As a CBJ fan I like Jan Hejda for the fact he is a +- plus player on a traditional poor +- team. He is a very underrated Defensive Defensemen.
Your autograph listing had Vermette tonight, but it did not list Derick Brassard, Mike Commodore, Steve Mason and Mike Blunden will be at Frog, Bear & Wild Boar Bar in the Arena District from 7:30-8:30 pm Celebrity Bartending to benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation.
The biggest surprise in the NHL for me is Rich Peverley why? 1. He plays for the Thrashers and 2. Never heard of him so that to me is the biggest surprise plus he’s now on my fnatsy team and is helping me a lot lately.
The biggest surprise to me , a bruins fan , is Tuukka Rask. His stats are good and I am even more surprised that he is playing so often as Tim Thomas isn’t doing as well as last year.
Craig Anderson has been the biggest surprise this year keeping Colorado at the top of their division. Plus, he is a great ttm signer which cannot hurt.
I like it a lot.
