Up until the beginning of September Troy Toluwitzki was batting 0.315 with 11 homers. Then September came and he has so far racked up 11 home runs and 27 RBI, doubling his home run total for the year.
Although he has certainly become a more selective hitter as he has dropped his strikeout rate by almost half. However for the large part of the season his power has just not been there. This month is just what the doctor ordered for the Rockies and for Troy as well. The Rockies are just 1.5 games back and are one of the hottest teams in the MLB right now.
Given the month he has had, you would think that his eBay value would be through the roof, but not really. His cards at one point were in the $40-$50 range. Now most of his autographs including the card below can be had for between $8-$15. I still think he is an excellent hitter and well worth the money his cards are going for now.
