My wife and I went to the Dollar Tree this weekend and of course I couldn’t resist getting three packs of wax there. I am thinking that this will be a crushing blow to me because I expect to find not one insert card in the bunch!
Pack #1 2010 Topps Football

Not a terrible pack, but sure wish I got someone other than Zac Robinson as a rookie card. He looks so frail in that picture. Could you imagine someone like Nick Barnett laying a hit on him? Zac would crumple like a Zenga tower in the last throws of a game. Meanwhile, I wonder what’s with Ernie Simm’s face?
Pack #2 2009 Upper Deck NFL Draft
I think this was a Walmart only release. This was a way to get the drafted players onto cards before they were members of the NFLPA. Throw in a Favre in a Jets jersey and the pack isn’t half bad. The Freeman is a sharp card and so is the Heyward-Bay (cough bust cough), plus I love me an OT card like big Eugene Monroe! Design is good, cards look halfway decent, not sure why this didn’t do better.
Pack #3 O-Pee-Chee Hockey

Well call me impressed, a retro insert card and a rainbow Legends card of none other than Mario Lemeiux. I really though there was no way this was going to contian anything decent, but I am definitely mistaken. The other cards are a bit of a waste, but I do like the Ellis and the Lemieux.
Overall I give these three packs a 3 of 5 stars. Not bad for three bucks at the dollar tree. I definitely didn’t expect to find anything, not that I made any money on the cards, but I didn’t do too bad.

These packs are the searched packs at the retail stores, you will never find anything, I call these packs set fillers.
